Reflections

Reflections Creativity Contest

Does your student enjoy art, music, and dance or have an interest in writing, producing films, and taking photos?  Then join us and have fun unleashing their inner artist with PTA Reflections!

THIS YEAR’S THEME: “Accepting Imperfection…”

We are excited to announce that the annual Reflections in the Arts contest is returning to Creighton’s Corner this year.  Does your student enjoy art, music and dance or have an interest in writing, producing films and taking photos?  Then join us and have fun unleashing their inner artist with PTA Reflections.

This year’s theme, “Accepting Imperfection” calls for your own unique interpretation through the arts.  Visit the Virginia PTA Reflections site for additional program information.  https://vapta.org/reflections-main/.

Projects scoring the highest at Creighton’s Corner will be sent electronically to the Loudoun Council for the district competition.  We will send up to 12 entries to the next level. 

How to Enter: All projects should be submitted virtually.  The deadline for submitting your project is November 20, 2024.

  2. Email completed projects, along with the completed student entry form, to “CCEReflectionsPTA@gmail.com”

Categories include (Students may enter one or more Arts categories, but only one entry PER individual category):

  • Photography K-2 / 3-5

  • Literature K-2 / 3-5

  • Dance Choreography K-2 / 3-5

  • Music Composition K-2 / 3-5

  • Film Production K-2 / 3-5

  • Visual Arts K-2 / 3-5

2024-2025 Reflections Due Dates:

  • Oct.-Nov.:  Students submit entries to CCE PTA before November 20, 2024.

  • Dec. 15:  Entries are judged and the 1st place winner in each category and division is advanced to the Council PTA

  • Jan. 24:  Council PTAs select winning entries and submit winning entries for each age division and art category to Virginia PTA. Council PTAs hold Student Awards Celebrations in late winter/early spring.

  • Feb. 20: Virginia PTA selects and submits state winning entries to National PTA to compete against students from across the United States, and holds a Student Awards Celebration in April. 

  • Mar. 15:  Virginia PTA Student Award Celebration (Tentative)

  • May 2024:  National PTA Winners Announced

WE ALSO NEED VOLUNTEER JUDGES IN EACH CATEGORY!
- Please consider volunteering if you are teaching any of these categories or have a background or interest
- Time commitment is generally a few hours or less to judge/rank submissions in your category
